JAMBOREE HEIGHTS’ VOLUNTEERS REAP REWARDS

The BCC has chosen the efforts of volunteers in JamboreeHeights as the “Face of their anti litter” campaign.

It is reported that the Mayor was ecstatic when shown pictures taken at our makeshift studio in the DetentionBasin. To top of his joy, Brisbane has been recently upgraded to the status of the “Cleanest City in Australia”.  Does that make Jamboree Heights the Cleanest Suburb?

THE DARRA COMMUNITY GROUP (DCG) - A NEW ALLIANCE

LIFE STYLE IN CENTENARY VILLAGE

It is important that JRA keeps striving to create varied community interests for our members.  As a result of an invitation from DCG for JRA members to join them for International Neighbour Day festivities, a bond was instigated to join in each other’s activities.

Twelve of our members and friends enjoyed a BBQ and film evening at their club house.  To compliment the International theme, we had Irish, Philippine, English and Australian’s there in attendance.

This group, which originally started in the Wacol Migrant Centre location - now called Centenary Village - has expanded to include the vibrant, ethnic community of Darra.
